Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name and other identifying information in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit a login page on our site, we may set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
Your IP address may be logged without any identifying information in an effort to reduce spam and activity from bots, and to track site performance in order to improve our customer service.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. This is true for payment third-parties as well, such as stripe and PayPal.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
We are not responsible for how your information is processed, shared or used by third-parties whose services are connected to our site. This includes the vendors we use to process payments such as Stripe and PayPal, orders, and subscriptions, as well as affiliates and advertisers. We do our best to choose highly reputable and secure third-parties to help service your account, and to protect your privacy as much as possible.
Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
We do not collect your credit card information. Instead, payment information is processed by the third-party vendor that you choose, such as Stripe, Venmo, or PayPal. See above.
To service your subscription requests and orders, your email address is shared with our email service provider, which at the time of writing this is Mailchimp. You can unsubscribe from receiving our emails or change your subscriptions by clicking the designated links on the emails your receive. Other than sharing information with vendors whose services help us service your account and process your orders and requests, your email address and personal information will not be shared or sold to any party.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
If you place an order on our website, your personal information may be retained indefinitely for future orders or as long as it is needed to provide customer service. We will not share your information with another party unless doing so is needed to service you or your account. We do not collect credit card information, instead we use third-parties that handle credit card transactions.
