22 Life Lessons I Now Believe
“You create your reality according to your beliefs.”
~Jane Roberts
As we go throughout life, we have experiences that carve us into the people we become. The ripples left behind by life’s lessons become our beliefs, which guide us to new experiences. And so it goes.
Here are 22 things, as a result of my life experiences, I now believe to be true.
I believe
Miracles are everywhere, happening all the time.
I believe
What we focus on grows.
I believe
Each person has a unique essence and unique gift to offer the world that will never, ever be repeated.
I believe
The secret to happiness is finding our own unique way of being in flow with this spark that is who we really are.
I believe
The more we do activities we love (or whatever we do) in a way that allows us to feel in synch with our true self, the happier we become.
I believe
When learn how to channel our unique essence, the more we will be able to be of service by offering something no one else can.
I believe
Impacting a few by being our authentic self is far more powerful than impacting millions by projecting an image not reflective of who we really are.
I believe
We each have a personal formula for happiness. The secret to finding ours is by listening to our soft, still voice within.
I believe
Taking our gifts as far as they can go requires courage because we will also come up against our own dark places, and areas that are in need of our attention.
I believe
The greatest gift we can give anyone is unconditionally accepting them just as they are, their unique gifts as well as areas where they are growing.
I believe
Everyone is a teacher and everyone is a student. When we approach life with a sense of curiosity and openness, we can’t help but be learning and teaching, whether we realize it or not.
I believe
The people who have the greatest impact on our lives, for better or worse, often never know it. I believe we have each been that for others.
I believe
We are all more alike than different. We have all felt what it is like to feel insecure, afraid, sad, angry, disappointed, confused, happy, in love and hopeful. We all know what it feels like to want to escape something that makes us feel uncomfortable. No one is exempt from these experiences because this is what makes us human.
I believe
The minute we judge someone, we lose our ability to positively influence him or her. The minute someone judges us, it is often difficult to fully receive any wisdom he or she may have to offer.
I believe
Learning to turn from judgment to seeing another’s humanity is a life skill we can each develop, and is exactly what is most needed in the world at this time.
I believe
Running from uncomfortable emotions is the single greatest cause of all strife, disease, hardship, addictions and conflict in the world.
I believe
The more we can develop the courage to stay with whatever comes up for us in life, whether or not we like it, the more positive a force in the world we will become.
I believe
Learning to relax and believe that everything is okay just as it is can create miracles. (This is something I am constantly working on.)
I believe
We are each on very unique different journeys, with infinite gifts to offer this world. The more we can support each other in channeling our unique gifts, the more we will be amazed by the miraculous power of humanity.
I believe
Life is an endless adventure of learning, growing and expanding, and our inner wisdom is always guiding us to whatever is next in our curriculum.
I believe
Wisdom in words is nothing compared to the wisdom that we absorb when in the presence of being with someone who is connected to and sharing her gift.
I believe
Everything we really, really want lies within.
As we navigate the journey to being true to ourselves and getting back to what we really believe, it’s an important question to ask.
